This class is very hard to pass. I spent much time to write a lot of paragraphs. I actually wrote 94 paragraphs in all. That was a great hardship. However, I think it was an important trial because it is a step to be a good English writer. This class is an opportunity for wrestle with English. I wish you good luck.

Summer Vacation in London 11

I spent this summer vacation in London. The weather was unusually fine and very hot. I went to the city to see the sights by underground. I visited such famous sightseeing spots as Buckingham Palace, National Gallery, and Sherlock Holmes Museum, among a few others. Especially, Westminster Abbey was very sacred and beautiful. I could not comprehend how they built such a sophisticated abbey. London’s buildings and markets were gorgeous. And parks were also beautiful and calm. I took a lot of pictures of beautiful and peaceful landscapes. Particularly, my favorite picture is the one of myself with a beefeater at Tower of London. I saw a few ducks and squirrels in Hyde Park. They are very cute. I especially like British delicious tea. So I want to go there again to drink some tea.

I want to be an English teacher in the future, but I might become a Japanese teacher at a foreign school. I would like to live in San Francisco. And I am going to visit Guam sometimes because my parents will move to live there in the near future. I will certainly go to see fencing games at the Tokyo Olympics with my friends. I am looking forward to watching the Olympic games in 2020 in Tokyo.

How to Make Delicious Fried Chicken 9

Let me introduce my mother’s recipe of Japanese fried chickens for a family of four. First, prepare one kilogram of fresh leg meat for a serving of a family of four. And, cut the meat for nibble sizes. Next, make some dipping sauce. Mix two lumps of garlic, a cup of soy sauce, and a half cup of sake in a bowl. Put a tea spoonful of sugar to give a subtle sweet flavor in the dipping sauce. Then, put the bowl of chickens in the dipping sauce and put them in a fridge for thirty minutes. Thirty minutes later, take the bowl out from the fridge and coat the meat with starch. Finally, heat the oil to 180 degrees and fry the chicken legs until they are brown. I like eating chickens with ponzu (juice pressed from a bitter orange) and grated radishes. Japanese fried chicken is the very juicy and delicious chicken dish.

My Favorite City 12

My favorite city is Kyoto, which is my hometown. If I express Kyoto in three adjectives, they are “efficient,” “gentle” and “traditional.” “Efficient” refers to the characters of citizens who are living in Kyoto. For example, we seldom see lines in downtown Kyoto. It is because the citizens in Kyoto know that being in line is a waste of time. So, we avoid making lines if we see a few people starting a line in front of shops, bus stops and so on. At a famous temple, you can often see a sign that says, “Don’t make lines. It is a nuisance.” Besides I have not gotten lost in Kyoto because streets are in grids that it is easy to tell where you are. And, people who are living in Kyoto are very kind with warm feelings of hospitality. We often hear that “Kyoto citizens are high-handed and ill-natured” by those from other cities. But it is not quite true. Especially, my hometown, Nakagyouku, has a lot of tourists and we are helping visitors. Finally, as you know, Kyoto treasures many cultural and historical heritages. For example, there are a lot of old houses, machiya, rare shops and traditional handiworks on the streets. These are the characteristics of Kyoto. It has many cultural heritages. In short, the residents are mantaining tradition and old things. Kyoto is the best place in the world for me.

Pros and Cons of SNS 5

I think there are some good and weak points about Social Networking Service. One of the advantages is that most of SNS is free. The other advantage is that we can see people’s way of lives and their thoughts. I think SNS is a valuable information tool for us. However, SNS has some disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is that our personal information leaks out to the public. We can not protect our privacies because our personal data can be looked up by strangers. It is very scary. And we can not find true friends through the SNS. Sometimes, users of SNS are caught up in a crime. Perhaps it may obstruct us from making good relationships at the real world. In brief, we should manage SNS well.

The Characteristic of Teachers 12

The characteristics of teachers are affection, flexibility, and knowledge. Among these, “affection” is the most important element for teachers. Teachers have to know personality of each student and should help them to spend their school lives cheerfully and meaningfully. But teachers should not spoil their students too much. Occasionally, they have to be a good coach for students. Moreover, teachers needs to have the element of flexibility. Flexibility is an ability of adaptation. They should be flexible enough to cope with and solve many kinds of problems. Teachers have to learn to communicate well with the students, their parents and local citizens. Lastly, teachers must have abundant knowledge of the subject, so that students can receive good education. I think good teachers should have these characteristics.
